Emily Goodspeed, Library Chair & Digital Services Librarian

Library Chair & Digital Services Librarian

Master of Science in Information Science, University at Albany.

Emily Goodspeed

I started working at the library in 2011 as a part-time Cataloging Librarian, and I have worked full-time since 2014. I am a SUNY Adirondack alumnus, and also interned here at the library as part of my degree requirement while obtaining my M.S.I.S. from SUNY Albany. As the Digital Services Librarian, I oversee a lot of "behind-the-scenes" work such as systems and database management. I am the library liaison to the Health Sciences, Mathematics and TECS Divisions. I also oversee our local history collection, The Hill Collection. I am also one of the co-advisors for our student honor society, Phi Theta Kappa.

Outside of the library, I enjoy spending time with my family and our dogs. Winter is my favorite season because I love downhill & XC skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing. I have recently taken up skijoring in place of dogsledding. I love the outdoors -- hiking, hunting and just playing around the Hudson River are other activities that my family & I enjoy up in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains!
