Emily Goodspeed

I started working at the library in 2011 as a part-time Cataloging Librarian, and I have worked full-time since 2014. I am a SUNY Adirondack alumnus, and also interned here at the library as part of my degree requirement while obtaining my M.S.I.S. from SUNY Albany. As the Digital Services Librarian, I oversee a lot of "behind-the-scenes" work such as systems and database management. I am the library liaison to the Health Sciences, Mathematics and TECS Divisions. I also oversee our local history collection, The Hill Collection. I am also the club advisor for our student honor society, Phi Theta Kappa.

Outside of the library, I enjoy spending time with my family and our dogs. Winter is my favorite season because I love downhill & XC skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing. I have recently taken up skijoring in place of dogsledding. I love the outdoors -- metal detecting, kayaking, hiking, hunting and just playing around the Hudson River are other activities that I enjoy up in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains!

My doggos, Sputnik & Ruby!

siberian husky

Sputnik is our Siberian Husky. His hobbies include towing his human Mom on skis, running away when the door is open, eating any food that hits the floor and mouthing-off to his human family when he doesn't get his way.

Ruby

Ruby is the newest edition to our family. She is an Alaskan Malamute & Labrador Retriever mix. When she is bigger she will be skijoring with dog-brother and human-Momma!
