Start-up ADK: Research Tips

If you're starting a small business, the information below can help you find demographics and more.

Finding Business Articles

These subscription databases are available from off-campus only with a college network account.

  • Enrolled students may use these databases from off-campus by logging in with their college network account when prompted.
  • Community members can visit the SUNY Adirondack Library to use these databases on campus.

Business Databases

The first three databases are especially useful for business magazine and newspaper articles.

These may also be helpful:

Business Journals

The SUNY Adirondack Library subscribes to these magazines in print. You can browse through them in print, and read some of the articles on their websites:

Advertising Age
Bloomberg Businessweek (formerly Business Week)
Forbes
Inc.
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance
Wall Street Journal
Fortune
Business Review (Capital District)

Glens Falls Business Journal

The full-text articles of many of these magazines can be accessed through our business databases to the left. Print versions may be available at your local public library.

Video Databases

The library subscribes to several video databases offering TED talks, PBS documentaries and more. Visit campus or, if you're a for-credit student,  using your credentials to log in.
