Some information is quickly found using book:

  • The Adirondack atlas: a geographic portrait of the Adirondack Park (Ref.  F 127 .A2 J46 2004) will have many answers. 
     
  • For town histories, try The Encyclopedia of New York State (Ref. F 119 .E53 2005). You may want to try the New York State Atlas & Gazetter (Ref. G 1250 .D4 2001) for geographical details. 
     
  • In addition to the Adirondack Park Agency website below, see the book The Adirondack Park in the twenty-first century: technical reports  (Ref.  F 127.A2 N644 1990) for historical and cultural aspects.
