Primary Sources

A primary source is original material about a historical event. The perspective on events is unfiltered by any other historian's interpretation.

Primary sources are typically eyewitness accounts of historical events, or accounts created shortly after the event occurred. They may be written or visual records in the form of letters, diaries, newspaper articles, maps, photographs, audio recordings, movies, and more.
