Using the Library's Subscription Databases

This page links to several subscription databases. They are available only from off-campus with a college network account.

  • Enrolled students may use these databases from off-campus by logging in with their college network account when prompted. 
  • Community members are welcomed to visit the SUNY Adirondack Library, borrow books and use library databases, downloading information needed. 

Statista

Statista is a subscription database that offers statistics on industry trends, consumer preferences and much more. 

  • Continuing Ed. students may access this library database on campus only
  • Students taking credit courses can use their college username/passwords can access off-campus.
  • Search with a topic, or use drop-down menus (Outlooks > Consumer Market Outlooks or Tools > Business Plan Export.)

The Business Plans Handbook offers model business plans. Find sample customer profiles, mission statements, competition and more!

Industry Trends and Company Databases

Search these two databases...

  • by Industry to see industry trends and SWOT analyses.
  • by Company to find publicly-held businesses like yours, to use as a model.

Use Your Public Library!

The database Reference Solutions (formerly Reference USA) is useful for searching for area businesses by county or zip code, to develop a list of competitors or a mailing list, for instance. It is available through many public libraries, such as those in our Southern Adirondack Library System. Search it online by logging in with your library card number.
